‘Kern Morris are Durham City’s only mixed (male and female) Cotswold and Border Morris side. The side began in 1986 and we have members with an age range from 20 years to over 60 years of age. Over the years we have travelled to the USA and Europe performing at festivals and events. Many of our members are musicians as well as dancers, and within our repertoire we include the traditions of Adderbury, Bampton, Kirtlington, Bledington and Ilmington as well as the darker dances from the Welsh Borders. Our kit is mostly modern, consisting of white shirts, black trousers and a purple sash (representing Palatine purple of Durham City).
