BPM Dance Academy

BPM Dance Academy was founded in Sussex in 2011 by Kat Chase & Luke Bohanna. Along with their passion to dance and perform, they aim to provide each individual the opportunity to explore something fresh, new and exciting within the dancing world, offering many performing opportunities specialising in Street Dance and Contemporary. Classes are offered from ages 3 all the way up to adult. We have most recently launched a brand new class, BPM Tots for ages 3-4.

BPM crews perform and compete across the country, from Camber Sands to the Blackpool Tower and have many championship dancers representing BPM at it’s finest. A huge thank you to the continued support from family, friends and parents to help form the next generation of dancers. We are ecstatic to be performing in the pre-show with two of our four crews, Eclipse and Nocturnal lets do this! #BPMFAM

Sompting Village Morris

We are an English Morris Dance side, formed in 1978, performing dance traditions including Cotswold, North-West, Sussex and Border Morris. The 60-strong membership comprises men’s and women’s teams, Sompting Larks (teens and young adults), a children’s Morris Minors and a band of talented musicians. In addition to our Wednesday night stands at local Sussex pubs (often ending with music and a sing-song), we attend Camra
Beer Festivals, Folk Festivals, including Crawley, Wickham and Faversham. European links have taken us to Italy, Germany, France, Switzerland, Belgium, Friesland and Greece. Shoreham town finds us celebrating the time-honoured traditional early morning First Day of May dancing and procession, followed by the crowning of the May Queen.

On 21st June we celebrate the Summer Solstice by ‘dancing down the sun’ on Highdown Hill, with flaming torches and a beacon, and in the autumn we hold, the now famous, family event of the Battle of the Conkers.
At Christmas and New Year, we enact a Tipteerers’ or Mummers’ Play, which has local origins that have been traced back to the 1800s. For our Wassail on the 5th January, why not join us with your drums and whistles for our midwinter torchlit procession, which always goes with a ‘bang’. Sompting Village Morris can be booked for fetes, music videos, weddings, corporate events and other functions.

We always welcome new members, both dancers and musicians. For details or bookings contact the ‘Bag’ LESLEY CARD.

Ragged Phoenix

Ragged Phoenix are an exciting and vibrant Morris side dancing both traditional and self-penned dances. Although of course out to enjoy ourselves, we are, nonetheless, passionate about our dances and always try to inject theatre, energy and attitude into our performance. Together with our music, we hope this makes us entertaining and enjoyable for you to watch.

Find us on Facebook, come and talk to us, think about joining and/or come out and support us this summer. We’d be delighted to see you.

May the luck of the Morris be with you!
